Kofa defeated Yuma High 46-39 on Friday in Gila Valley Region action at Kofa. The Kings (13-9 overall, 4-1 region) were led by Anthony Faidley's 18 points and 12 rebounds.
Yuma High (white uniforms) had three players score in double figures Tuesday night to defeat Gila Valley Region rival Cibola (dark uniforms) 65-60 for the second time this season.
Visiting Arizona Lutheran defeated Yuma Catholic 58-49 behind 46 poings in the paint on Wednesday in a 2A state tournament play-in game. Brian Badgley led YC with 13 points.
The Kings would have liked one more game in that venue, but their 75-31 5A Division II state semifinal loss to Tucson-Ironwood Ridge didn't put a damper on what became a historic season. Video by Ryan Brennecke
