Cibola pitcher Christian Marquez strikes out Kofa's Alexis Ortega to end the first inning.

Cibola's Gabriel Miranda defeated Kofa's Alan Felix in the 5A Div. II 130 pound state final 7-5 on Feb. 9 at Jobing.com Arena. Miranda, the top seed, scored a takedown of the second seed as time expired. It was the junior's first state title.

Neither team scored in the second half of Friday night's cross-town rivalry game at Irv Pallack Field. The Kings went home with the win over the Crims, 14-0.

Kofa defeated Yuma High 54-34 on Friday at Yuma High. Regina Brown led a second-half surge by the Kings with 15 points and six rebounds.
