Read Across America Day is celebrated on the birthday of Dr. Seuss. Students at Desert View Academy spent the day with characters from Seuss's books and community guest readers, including some U.S. Border Patrol agents.

Miss Yuma County Kathryn Clark and a group of students from Palmcroft Elementary had the opportunity to play with blocks from the Imagination Playground owned by the City of Yuma Parks and Recreation department Tuesday afternoon.
Students from Arizona Western College Student Support Services read to preschoolers in the Rancho Viejo Head Start program and handed out books that had been donated.
