Eight young women are vying for the titles of Miss Yuma County and Miss Yuma County Outstanding Teen for 2020 in the Yuma Scholarship Program on Saturday.
The program is affiliated with the Miss Arizona Scholarship Organization, which holds the preliminary competition to select the titleholder to compete in the Miss America competition.
The Yuma program is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. at the Yuma Civic Center, 1440 W. Desert Hills Drive. Crowning of the winner of Miss Yuma County is slated to take place in time for the winner to take part in the Ken and Betty Borland Holiday Pageant and Tower Lighting Ceremony later in the evening at Friendship Tower.
“Forever Yuma!” is the theme for Saturday’s program.
Tickets for the program are $20 and available for purchase at the door. Civic center doors open at 3:15 p.m.
