The Yuma Police Department is notifying the community that Ismael Oscar Godoy, 33, a convicted Level 3 sex offender with a high risk to re-offend, is now living at a new address within the city.
His new address is 544 S. 6th Avenue.
On May 11, 2006, Godoy was convicted on two counts for Indecent exposure. He was also convicted for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender on Sept. 12, 2012.
Godoy is described as being 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighing 130 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
Godoy is not currently wanted by law enforcement, but he has been convicted of a sex offense that allows for community notification. Notification must be made when certain sex offenders are released from the Arizona State Prison, accepted under an interstate compact or released from the county jail back into the community.
Yuma police have no legal authority to direct where a sex offender may or may not live. Unless court ordered restrictions exist, an offender is constitutionally free to live wherever they choose.
