A fire destroyed an unoccupied mobile home in the Foothills early Friday, according to the Rural/Metro Fire Department.
Company spokesperson Charly McMurdie explained that the fire was reported at approximately 1:30 a.m. in the 100 block of Pinto Street, near Mesa Avenue, which is in one of the earliest areas established in the Foothills.
McMurdie said when firefighters arrived on scene, they found a small travel trailer and a double-wide mobile home both engulfed in flames.
“Nobody had lived on the property for a few years,” McMurdie said.
Firefighters extinguished the fire and remained on scene for several hours putting out hot spots. Both the trailer and mobile home were destroyed.
There were no reports of injuries.
McMurdie said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
