During the week of Oct. 27-Nov. 2, the Yuma Fire Department responded to 298 emergency calls for service, including:

• 10 General Fire Response

Including: 1 for an illegal trash fire, 2 for gas line leaks, and various alarms

• 1 Mutual Aid

Including: 1 call to assist Rural Metro with a medical emergency in the County

• 29 Motor Vehicle Crashes

Including: 2 involving pedestrians, 2 reported as head-on, 1 involving a motorcycle, 1 involving a wall, 1 involving a fence, 2 involving 3 or more vehicles, and 1 involving a saguaro cactus

• 223 Other Medical Emergencies (serious to minor)

Including: 16 for difficulty breathing, 21 for chest pain, 41 for falls, 3 for unconscious people, 6 seizure cases, 5 possible stroke cases, 5 for intoxicated persons, 2 for people under the influence of drugs, 1 drug overdose case, 14 for people with psychiatric problems, 4 for medical alarms, 1 for an allergic reaction, 1 for choking, 14 for altered or decreased level of consciousness, 1 for fever, 6 for diabetic emergencies, 9 for man down calls, 1 for uncontrolled bleeding, 2 for bad headaches, 1 for a gunshot wound, 2 for assaults, 2 for back pain, 9 for abdominal pain, 1 pregnancy related, 2 for lacerations, 1 for a person injured falling from the top of a park ramada, 1 for a person injured falling out of a golf cart, and other illnesses and injuries

• 35 Special Duty, Public Assistance, and Residential Assignments

Including: 1 for an ATV on fire, 1 for a person in a canal, 1 for a hay bale fire, 1 for people stuck on an elevator, 2 for power lines down, 1 for a branch down on power lines, 1 for a vehicle fire, 1 to assist YPD with a ladder truck to take aerial photos of a crash scene, 1 for a fence fire, 1 for a small brush fire, and various alarms.
