Man shot outside liquor store

A man was injured in a shooting outside a liquor store  in the 100 block of East 24th Street on Wednesday evening. The 25-year-old male was transported to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.

Yuma police blocked traffic along 24th Street from Arizona to Madison Avenues for several hours Wednesday evening while they investigated a shooting that happened in the parking lot of a liquor store.

At approximately 5:53 p.m., according to information provided by Lt. Robert Conley, officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 100 block of East 24th Street, which is where R.C. Liquor is located.

When officers arrived on scene they found a 25-year-old male with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.

Yellow crime scene tape was hung around the liquor store’s parking lot and there was a dark-colored sedan with the driver side door open parked in front of the building.

This case is still under investigation. No other information was available as of press time
