Avenue A was closed between 28th Street to Palmcroft Drive Wednesday afternoon while Yuma police investigated a collision between a vehicle and a motorcycle that left the rider with life-threatening injuries
Yuma Police Department pokesperson Sgt. Lori Franklin reported that at approximately 4:03 p.m. officers responded to Avenue A and 28th Street for a report of a vehicle-versus- motorcycle collision.
She said the initial investigation into the crash revealed that a black Yamaha motorcycle, being ridden by a 43-year-old male, was making a left-hand turn onto Avenue A from 28th Street when it collided with a Chevy Silverado.
The rider of the motorcycle was transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center, while the driver and two passengers of the Chevy Silverado were uninjured.
Neither speed nor alcohol, according to Franklin, appear to be factors in the crash
