No injuries were reported from a two-vehicle, rear-end type collision Monday afternoon at W. Main Street and Carlisle Avenue in Somerton.
According to information provided by Battalion Chief Louie Carlos, of the Somerton/Cocopah Fire Department, the crash happened at approximately 3:53 p.m. and involved two pickup trucks.
When firefighters arrived on scene they found a red Ford F-150 pickup truck and a grey Toyota Tacoma disabled in front of a crosswalk.
Both pickups were traveling eastbound at the time of the collision when the grey pickup stopped at the crosswalk.
The collision was of enough force to cause all the air bags to deploy and caused serious damage to the red F-150 pickup.
The driver of the red pickup truck was assessed on scene for injuries but refused transport to Yuma Regional Medical Center. The driver of the grey pickup and his two other passengers refused any assessment from emergency personnel.
The Somerton Police department is investigating.
