The Arizona Department of Transportation is advising Yuma motorists to plan ahead for overnight lane restrictions on Interstate 8 that will be in place throughout the remainder of the month.

Maintenance crews are scheduled to complete a crack seal application on the road. The work is part of multiple pavement preservation projects on highways across the state.

The following restrictions, which began on Tuesday, will occur Monday through Friday from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. and ending Friday, Jan. 31:

• Westbound I-8 will be narrowed to one lane between Fortuna Road (Exit 12) and Giss Parkway (Exit 1).

• Motorists should anticipate a 5-mile lane restriction while crews progress through the work zone.

• A 14-foot vehicle width restriction will in place.

• Note: Restrictions will be lifted during Civil Rights Day/Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, Jan. 20.
