Free mammograms and skin cancer screenings

Yoga, zumba and other activities will be offered to the public during Sunset Community Health Center's inaugural Think Pink event Oct. 19

Sunset Community Health Center will offer free mammograms and skin cancer screenings by appointment during its Think Pink event in Somerton on Oct. 19.

The Somerton Community Center, 805 W. Main St. will be the site for the inaugural event offered by the non-profit health organization that serves Yuma County.

Mammograms and skin cancer exams will be given free of charge from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to those who have scheduled appointments. To make an appointment, call 928-782-8104.

Also during the event, Sunset will give free flu shots as part of its Wellness on Wheels Flu campaign, and will offer free dental varnish applications to children.

Attendees also will be weighed and measured, and receive free glucose, cholesterol blood pressure and HIV tests and basic eye exams.

Other activities offered as part of Think Pink will be yoga and zumba instruction and a children’s play area.
