I read an article in Men’s Journal about “The Best Father’s Day Gifts for Every Type of Dad.”

And I came away thinking the gifts on the list aren’t really for “every type” of dad. Not me, anyway.

The magazine claims it has broken down what dads are interested in, including music, travel, tech, cooking and exercise, and boldly proclaims, “Here’s your blueprint.”

Um, no.

I have no interest in a $300 set of ear buds, much less a $3,499 record turntable, or a $2,000 Fender American Acoustasonic Telecaster guitar. Heck, I still can’t play my ukulele.

And getting me a $600 Canon EOS M50 would be insane when everyone knows I’m a Nikon guy.

And a $7,900 wristwatch, with two time zones? Get serious.

Everything considered, I don’t think I ever got a necktie, or a pen and pencil set, but I’d be happy with a cool tie, just so it’s not a clip on, and hey, a metallic Sharpie pen would be sweet too.

Happy Father’s Day to all you dads out there!
