Spirit of LeMons

Jeff "Speedycop" Bloch works inside the fuselage or cockpit of the "Spirit of LeMons," a street-legal race car, which once was a 1956 Cessna 310 airplane, during a stop in Yuma on Wednesday, on the way to Comic-Con International: San Diego, which opened Thursday. Bloch and his team, "The Gang of Outlaws," were working on the plane's, or rather the race car's engine before hitting the road for the last leg of their journey, which started in Washington D.C. On the 2,700-mile trip home, Bloch, a police sergeant in Washington D.C., said he and his team plan on leaving the Spirit of LeMons off the trailer and driving it all they way back for Ripley's Believe It or Not and The Travel Channel. "We're planning to tow it out, drive it around the convention and the town all four days to promote the amazing Ripley's display," said Bloch, "and then road trip it back in a series of adventures. We need to be back home Sunday night the 28th in time for Ripley's Believe It or Not show on the Travel Channel. Set your DVRs, because they are airing a 6 1/2 minute segment on us that they filmed last year. It's gonna be good."
